Xinjiang anti-terrorism efforts effective: Foreign politicalparty leaders

Leaders of different foreign political parties who have visitedNorthwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region said people should see thereal intention of fabricating and spreading rumors about the region in globalsociety and learn more facts about Xinjiang.
Also, the anti-terrorism measures in the region, which has beenthe frontline of China's battle on terrorism, have proven to be effective, theysaid on the sidelines of an online thematic briefing on Xinjiang held in theregional capital, Urumqi, on Monday, adding that it has set a good example forthe world in the fight against terrorism.
The event is a part of the "Stories of the Communist Partyof China" thematic briefings organized by the International Department ofCPC Central Committee. The briefings aim to share the practices of Xi JinpingThought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
More than 310 representatives from nearly 190 foreign politicalparties, organizations, media and think tanks took part in the briefing,focusing on the stories of how Xinjiang people work towards better lives underthe leadership of CPC. The event was live-streamed online in languages thatincluded French, English and Arabic.
"Some Western countries have fabricated rumors aboutXinjiang. Those rumors have ignored the region's anti-terrorism and extremismefforts, which are among the best in the world," said Kawa Mahmoud,secretary of the Kurdistan Communist Party of Iraq.
Mahmoud said that during his visit he has witnessed how theregion's economic development has benefited from the stabilized socialenvironment.
"China should stick to its development path and continue torefute rumors that aim to curb the development of the country," Mahmoudsaid.
Dogu Perincek, chairman of the Patriotic Party of Turkey, hasvisited Xinjiang fives times.
"Every time I am impressed with the region'sdevelopment," he said. "What's more, China's anti-terrorismachievements in Xinjiang have inspired Turkey, which also suffers fromterrorism.".
